The uses of portable CO2 gas detectors in confined space

Carbon dioxide is one of the most frequently overlooked of all toxic gases. Carbon dioxide is particularly associated with the beer and wine making industries, where it is produced as a byproduct of fermentation. Carbon dioxide is also widely used in the oil industry, It is also one of the most common atmospheric hazards encountered in confined spaces. Exposure to elevated levels of CO2 can cause headaches, drowsiness or even sudden death.

Confined spaces are one of the most dangerous types of industrial applications because of the lack of ventilation and pockets of gas can easily build-up. Confined spaces could be met in any industry including food processing, utilities, petrochemical, shipping, agriculture, brewery, construction, hydrocarbon exploration and emergency services.

The range of portable and fixed CO2 detectors that we supply can monitor the changes in the levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) within an enclosed area. Using CO2 sensors these portable gas detectors continuously monitor carbon dioxide (CO2) levels and will display the reading on a digital display.

The detector includes an 85 db audible alarm, flashing LEDs and vibration to notify the wearer of high CO2 levels. It come in either extractive type that has built in sampling pump, or in diffusion type with no sampling pump.
